The Cottage

swirl

The cottage is built into the back of a steep ridge, and from the deck you will quite often see deer moving along the ridge early & late in the day. The deck at the cottage offers a picnic table, some chairs and a propane BBQ.

The cottage’s waterfront is located across the 1 lane dead end road. Down several steps you will find a level sand area complete with fire pit, and children’s slide and sandbox as well as a small storage cabin. The waterfront is gradual entry soft bottom. The waterfront also has a child safe deck (complete with muskoka chairs) which leads out to the dock, where you will find a row boat & canoe (please bring your own life jackets). For the more advanced swimmers a raft floats a little ways offshore. A short walk down the road is a small lovely public sand beach great for swimming that also offers a boat launch. And what better way to end the day than a campfire in the pit by the shore listening to the loons?

Winter brings a different kind of outdoor fun. Snowshoes are provided for those who wish to try a “traditional” winter hike.

Indoor Comforts

The cottage offers all the comforts of home. It features an open concept with the living room and eat in kitchen, perfect for families. Both of these rooms have vaulted pine ceilings to add to the brightness of the cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker and all pots, pans & dishes. The water is supplied by a drilled well, but being that we aren’t on property regularly to test it, we recommend that you supply your own drinking water. The kitchen table has seating for 4, but a leaf can be put in and with 2 extra folding chairs in the closet to easily accommodate 6 people.

For the evenings or rainy days the living room offers free wifi, a TV with DVD player (and a selection of dogsled movies or feel free to bring along a movie for the evening), along with a radio/CD player. There is ample seating with a large sectional couch and loveseat. For the cooler times of year there is a glass fronted wood stove to give the cottage a wonderful warm glow! Wood is provided during the fall, winter & spring.

Three cozy bedrooms sleep 6 comfortably, in 2 double beds and 1 queen. Due to COVID, we are not able to provide toiletries (soaps and shampoos), quilts, pillows, blankets, bath or dish towels.  Please ensure you bring your own with you. The bedrooms also have electric baseboard heaters for the cooler nights. The 3 piece bathroom has a stand up shower.
